<![CDATA[First Week of Music!]]>Wed, 16 Sep 2015 18:40:08 GMThttp://hpesmusic.weebly.com/pre-k/first-week-of-musicThe first week of music in Pre-school was exciting and action packed! We learned some silly song's, fun finger games, movement songs, and even played with some rhythm sticks for our first instruments! Here's one of our silly songs and finger song to try at home!

Father and Mother and Uncle John:
This silly story is chanted, while patting your legs to the syllables, unless written differently.

Father and Mother and Uncle John,
(Pat legs on each persons name)
All rode to market upon a white ram.
(pat the syllables on legs, clap on ram)
Off fell Father and off fell Mother,
(Pat hands on lap, then move Left hand in air for father and the right hand for mother)
And away rode Uncle John!
(pretend to be riding a horse)

On my toe there is a Flea!
This is a song, the singer should start on a low pitch and continue to sing at a higher pitch until the reach their head, then staying at the same pitch come back down to their original pitch. This song should be done sitting downm gently touching the body part mention in the song.

On my toe there is a flea,
(tap toes)
Now he's climbing up on me.
(walk fingers up legs)
Past my tummy, past my nose,
(tickle your tummy, touch your nose)
On my head where my hair grows!
(gentle pull on hair)

On my head there is a flea,
(tap head)
Now he's climbing down on me.
(walk fingers down from head)
Past my tummy, past my knee,
(tickle your tummy, tap your knees)
On my toe! Take that FLEA!
(touch your toe, gently flick the toe)]]>
